Shannon Thompson is a student therapist who has a passion for working with children, adolescents and families. She earned her master’s degree in school psychology in 2016, and previously worked as a school psychologist within public school systems in NY & WA state. Shannon has extensive experience collaborating with parents/caregivers, teachers, administrators, specialists, and other school personnel in effort to provide academic, social and behavioral support to youth in need. She also has skills in conducting psychoeducational evaluations for special education referrals.

As a therapist, Shannon has previous experience providing therapy and conducting ADHD assessments for adults at the University of Houston Clear Lake’s Psychological Services Clinic. Additionally, she has provided therapy to middle school students in the Cypress Fairbanks School District in Houston.

Shannon is currently a doctoral student at the University of Houston Clear Lake’s Clinical and School Psychology PsyD program. She enjoys nature, traveling, poetry and creative writing. She also has a special interest in treating anxiety, depression, and supporting foster care & adoption related issues for both youth and adults.

As a student therapist, Shannon provides therapy at a reduced cost.

  • As a student therapist, Shannon is not in network with insurance. She can provide you with a superbill that you can file with your insurance company for reimbursement.
  • Fee: $30 for each session.
  • Shannon is working under supervision by Dr. Wendy Morua, Licensed Psychologist.
