Dr. Samson Michel, Psy.D. (he/him/his) is a dedicated post-doctoral fellow passionate about helping individuals navigate life’s challenges and achieve personal growth. He has a broad range of experience in working with substance use, serious mental illness, anxiety-related disorders, and early trauma.
Dr. Michel’s clinical expertise extends to working in outpatient, inpatient, and residential settings, providing him with a well-rounded perspective on mental health care. Dr. Michel completed his Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at William James College in 2024. His pre-doctoral internship was completed at Worcester Recovery Center and UMass Chan Medical School, where he honed his skills in working with transitional-age youth (approximately ages 13-26); however, he is open to working with individuals across all age groups.
Dr. Michel has a particular interest in addressing issues related to anxiety, identity formation, ADHD, academic and career stress, depression, and excoriation behaviors. His therapeutic approach is primarily Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)-oriented, complemented by training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). He is currently working toward full licensure as a Licensed Psychologist. Believing in the power of a collaborative and supportive therapeutic relationship, Dr. Michel strives to create a welcoming and understanding environment for his clients. He is committed to helping individuals understand their internal experiences and develop effective strategies for managing their mental health.
