Dr. Meghna Thiruvazhi (she/her/hers) is a post-doctoral fellow who specializes in working with children, adolescents, and their families. She is particularly interested in providing therapy for individuals diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental delays, ADHD, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, trauma, general life stress, and challenges with school and/or relationships. Dr. Thiruvazhi also specializes in providing comprehensive psychological evaluations to assess a child or adolescent’s needs as well as tailoring recommendations to address these challenges within their home, school, or community settings. Specifically, she is interested in comprehensive psychological evaluations for children and adolescents curious about possible Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, and other learning delays/disabilities. Further, Dr. Thiruvazhi is fluent in both English and Tamil and would welcome any opportunity to work with South Asian children and families. Dr. Thiruvazhi earned her Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from Midwestern University, Glendale and completed her internship at The University of Texas at Tyler Health Science Center.

Dr. Thiruvazhi is a compassionate child psychologist who believes in fostering an engaging and collaborative environment where her clients feel safe to explore their thoughts, feelings, and emotions and gain coping skills that they can carry with them as they progress through life. Grounded in a person-centered approach, she uses evidence-based practices like cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), parent-management training (PMT), and trauma-informed care in an integrative manner that allows for creativity within the therapeutic space. By incorporating play and art therapy, Dr. Thiruvazhi ensures her treatment is individualized, meaningful, and tailored to each client’s unique skills and strengths. Regarding psychological assessments, Dr. Thiruvazhi also engages in evidence-based measures to ensure accurate assessment, interpretation, and diagnoses.
