Dr. Christopher “Alex” Evans (he/him/his) is a licensed psychologist who works with adolescents, adults, and couples seeking therapy or individual psychological evaluations/assessments. Dr. Evans specializes in anxiety management, clients that identify as LGBTQ+, career stressors, and eating concerns.
Dr. Evans earned his Ph.D. in Counseling and Education Psychology with a focus on behavioral health in 2022 from New Mexico State University. He has experience in community mental health settings, university counseling centers, substance use in-patient treatment, and hospital clinics serving a variety of clients and mental health concerns.
Dr. Evans approaches working with clients in a collaborative and strength-based approach to change their relationship with thoughts, feelings, memories, and sensations that trigger mental health distress. He emphatically. works with clients to develop acceptance and self-compassion for the painful parts of their inner emotional experiences to discover who they want to be in life and where they want to go. Clients learn to reduce unnecessary suffering in a safe therapeutic relationship and refocus their energies on the people and experiences that matter most to them- ultimately, leading them to live better lives.
