About Reconnect After Baby
Helping Couples Thrive Together, After Parenthood
Bringing home a new baby can feel magical ... and exhausting. Sleepless nights, shifting roles, and non-stop diapers can nudge even the strongest couples apart. Reconnect After Baby is an 8-week, therapist-led workshop that helps new parents rediscover closeness, rebuild trust, and strengthen communication so you both feel like partners again, not just co-managers of a tiny human.
Healthy Communication, Lasting Connection
Rooted in Dr. Sue Johnson’s acclaimed Hold Me Tight® program and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), each Saturday-morning session guides you through research-backed dialogues that turn everyday tension into deeper understanding.
Support for Stronger Relationships
Led by Marissa Kepple, LPA, and EFT specialist, this small-group experience is designed specifically for postpartum couples. You’ll practice proven tools for:
- Navigating newborn stress without blaming each other
- Turning conflict into connection. Yes, even on three hours of sleep
- Rekindling intimacy and shared joy in your new family season
Because thriving as parents starts with thriving as partners.
Benefits of the Reconnect After Baby Workshop
Early parenthood is one of life’s greatest adventures, but even adventures need a map. Over eight guided weeks, our workshop gives new moms and dads the practical tools and emotional space to move from survival mode to thriving together.
Strengthen Understanding & Connection
Learn simple, research-backed conversation skills that cut through sleep-deprived fog and help you share thoughts, worries, and wins without misunderstandings.
Navigate New-Parent Conflicts the Healthy Way
Diaper-duty disputes? Feeding-style debates? We turn common flashpoints into respectful dialogues, teaching compromise and problem-solving you can use long after the baby stage.
Heal & Move Forward Together
If words or actions have bruised trust during the postpartum whirlwind, EFT-based exercises create a safe space for honesty, accountability, and genuine repair.
Rekindle Emotional + Physical Intimacy
Explore proven techniques for staying romantically connected when energy is low and time is scarce, because a strong "us" is the best gift you can give your growing family.
Feel Less Alone, Gain Lasting Tools
A small, supportive cohort reminds you that other couples are walking the same path. You’ll leave each session with take-home strategies (and your own copy of Hold Me Tight) to keep the momentum going.
Frequently Asked Questions
1. Who is the "Reconnect After Baby" workshop designed for?
This program is specifically for couples who have welcomed a baby (birth, adoption, or foster) within the past two years and want to feel more connected, supported, and confident in their new roles as parents and partners. You don’t need to be in crisis; curiosity and a desire to grow together are all that’s required.
2. What happens during each Saturday session?
Each two-hour meeting follows a simple rhythm:
- Short teaching grounded in Emotionally Focused Therapy and Hold Me Tightprinciples.
- Demonstration of that week’s conversation exercise.
- Private couple dialogue (no group sharing required).
- Optional Q&A/debrief with therapist Marissa Kepple. You’ll leave with a practical takeaway to practice at home, think of it as a relationship workout plan for the week ahead.
3. We might miss a week, can we still join?
Yes. While attending all eight sessions gives you the fullest experience, we understand life with a baby can be unpredictable. You’ll receive handouts and a brief catch-up video for any session you miss, so you can stay on track.
4. Do we need childcare, and is the fee covered by insurance?
To keep the environment calm and focused, sessions are adult-only. The $680 workshop fee is typically an out-of-pocket educational expense and not billed to insurance (though you’re welcome to submit a receipt to your plan if they cover psycho-educational groups). The price includes all eight sessions and a personal copy of Hold Me Tight for continued practice at home.
